Hands-on care

Chiropractic care in Morgan Hill

Gentle, specific care for the spine, joints and nervous system — for newborns, athletes, expectant mothers and the long-lived. Dr. Diana Tole, DC has been adjusting patients in Morgan Hill since 2008.

The approach

Find the “why,” not just the sore spot

Chiropractic sees the body as a whole — how it’s operating within itself, and how it’s being affected by the world around it. That matters, because the place that hurts and the place causing the hurt are frequently not the same place.

So the questions go wider than they might elsewhere: what you eat and drink, how you breathe, how you sleep, what your day physically asks of your body. It’s the same root-cause thinking behind our functional medicine work, applied to structure and the nervous system.

A whole-body profession

Chiropractic focuses on the spine and other joints of the body, and their connection to the nervous system. Chiropractors use adjustments to restore joint function and support the nervous system, helping patients maintain health while avoiding unnecessary drugs or surgery.

What an adjustment actually is

A chiropractic adjustment is a very safe, specific, controlled force applied to a joint to restore proper function and mobility. Accidents, falls, stress or overexertion can negatively impact your spine or other joints. Left unresolved, that can make you more susceptible to chronic problems. Adjustments reduce pain, increase movement and improve performance.

Your comfort decides the technique

Dr. Diana practices several different techniques and selects based on your comfort level and your individual needs — traditional manual adjusting, or low-force tool-based adjusting for patients who’d rather skip the twisting and popping. Heat, traction (stretching) tables and percussion are used first to relax the area.

Coordinated, and usually covered

Chiropractic care costs the same as, or less than, other types of health care and is included in most health insurance plans. Chiropractors collaborate with other health-care providers every day and are trained to refer you to the appropriate specialist when needed.

Know exactly what your first visits look like

Nobody likes walking into an appointment blind. Here’s the actual sequence, with honest time estimates.

  1. Initial Examination

Collecting and discussing a detailed health history is of utmost importance. A thorough physical exam may include neurological and orthopedic testing, posture analysis and joint range-of-motion evaluation. If needed, we offer digital X-rays on site. Expect ample one-on-one time with the doctor.

    About 1 hour
  2. Report of Findings

We want you in the loop. We detail your treatment plan, treatment frequency, and the results of your exam and/or X-ray. We’ll discuss what to expect in the coming weeks, during a typical treatment, and what our approach to your condition will be.

    About 30 minutes
  3. Ongoing Treatment

We use a variety of techniques to tailor an individualized treatment. From traditional manual adjustments to low-force tool-based adjustments, your comfort is our first priority. We use heat, traction (stretching) tables, and percussion to promote relaxation prior to your adjustment.

    About 20 minutes

Techniques & tools

What’s available in the treatment room

Not every patient gets every one of these. They’re selected to match your presentation and your preference.

Manual adjusting

Traditional hands-on adjusting: a specific, controlled force to restore joint motion. Fast, effective, and what most people picture when they think of chiropractic.

Low-force instrument adjusting

Tool-based adjusting delivering a precise, gentle impulse. No twisting, no cavitation sound. Well suited to nervous first-timers, children, and osteoporotic patients.

Traction & stretching tables

Used to decompress and mobilise the spine and relax surrounding tissue before an adjustment, which makes the adjustment itself easier and more comfortable.

Percussion & soft tissue

Targeted soft-tissue work and percussive therapy for the muscles that guard a painful joint — often the reason a problem keeps coming back.

Heat therapy

Applied before adjusting to increase circulation and reduce muscular guarding. Small thing, noticeable difference.

Shockwave therapy

Radial pressure wave therapy for stubborn tendon and fascia problems, used alongside adjusting and a loading programme rather than instead of them.

How it works →

Digital X-ray, on site

When imaging is clinically indicated, it happens here during your visit — not as a referral to another facility and a second appointment.

Before you book

Chiropractic questions, answered honestly

Is chiropractic safe?

A chiropractic adjustment is a very safe, specific, controlled force applied to a joint to restore proper function and mobility. Dr. Diana screens for the small number of conditions where adjusting isn’t appropriate during your examination, which is part of why the first visit takes a full hour.

Will I hear a popping sound? Does it hurt?

Sometimes, and it’s just gas releasing from the joint — the same thing that happens when you crack a knuckle. If the sound or the sensation bothers you, say so: low-force instrument adjusting achieves a similar result without it. Most patients describe relief rather than pain.

How many visits will I need?

You’ll get a specific answer at your Report of Findings rather than a vague one now, because it depends on what the exam shows, how long the problem has been there, and what you want out of care. Some patients need a handful of visits; chronic or long-standing problems take longer. You’ll see the proposed frequency in writing before starting.

Is it safe during pregnancy?

Prenatal chiropractic is a routine part of this practice, using positioning and techniques designed for a pregnant body. Many patients come in for pelvic and low back discomfort in the second and third trimesters, and continue postpartum.

Can babies and children be adjusted?

Yes, and pediatric adjusting bears almost no resemblance to adult adjusting — the force involved is roughly what you’d use to check a ripe tomato. Dr. Diana will explain exactly what she’s doing and why before she touches your child.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. Chiropractors are portal-of-entry providers in California, so you can book directly. Dr. Diana works alongside other healthcare providers regularly and will refer you out if your presentation calls for a different specialist.
